spiked has done an insightful and sarcastic view of the ‘handover of power’ in iraq. and, unlike michael moore, the author’s sources are all reputable (peepthe footnotes).

I think that if we’re trying to become imperialists, we should pattern ourselves after the best: the british in the 18th and 19th century. to that end, why even bother with the fake handovers and media wrangling? just come out and call iraq a colony, and then start handing out opium; that usually does the trick to tame those savages. I even created a new flag to get them started.
