break out the acid-wash

there’s a really great article over at the new york times about guns n’ roses and their final (non)album (login: liquifyorg pw: nytimes). people always talk about how crazy axl is/was, but just to prove his superior thinking, I submit to you the following:

The process was drawn out even further after Mr. Rose hired two new musicians - the guitarist Buckethead, a virtuoso who wore a mannequin-like face mask and a KFC bucket on his head, and the drummer Brian “Brain” Mantia - whom the singer directed to re-record all the music that their predecessors had spent months performing.

genius! ain’t no party without the colonel.

speaking of music, i’m currently obsessed with astaire, a brazilian-american brother & sister who sound like an offshoot of the cardigans.

da queen bee

lil' kim

free lil’ kim!

few in the rap world have the moral authority, decency, and respect for others like the queen bee.

if it was me, I’d bring up my star character witness and brother (in name only), lil’ jon.

“lil’ jon, is lil’ kim innocent?”

“WHHATTT?”

is lil’ kim innocent?

“YEEEAHH!”

disgusted by teal

I’m so sick of clients asking for teal “accents” put into their website. this latest one wants a new design with “teal and yellow/red contrast colors”. what? that’s going to look like a clown’s small intestine.

don’t ask me how I know that.

I guess they don’t understand that teal went out in 1983. in fact, teal was probably too 1983 even for 1983. so – other than raft-riding cubans and senior citizens – is there some kind of mass exodus into miami that I don’t know of? are members only jackets coming back into style? what’s the deal?
