all hail mother nature

rita has become a category 4 hurricane, with the possibility of growing even stronger.

the good news is, thanks to the political and financial nightmare known as katrina, washington is much more prepared. though it doesn’t help that there are still stupid people in charge:

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff urged residents in the threatened areas to get out.

“You can’t play around with this storm,” he said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” He added: “The lesson is that when the storm hits, the best place to be is to be out of the path of the storm.”

chertoff will be publishing his autobiography entitled ice cold, wind blow, fire hot! in the weeks to come.

Uh, so this sucks for all the people stuck down there. I hope they can get out safely in time.

Meanwhile, taking a cue from Kevin Chang, I filled up my gas tank. Rita is aiming to smash directly into some of the biggest oil refineries in the US. Awesome. God does hate oil.
