I was home for lunch yesterday, and turned on the tv to see if sportscenter was on. apparently I’d just missed the 45th showing that day, because it was not sportscenter, but instead live senior bowl coverage. I’m not talking about octogenarians and 7-10 splits. this is the game for senior college players to showcase their talents in front of the NFL scouts. and it wasn’t just any senior bowl coverage. no, this was live footage of the practice field, hour 6. yes, it actually said “hour 6″.
does espn think we’re really that desperate for football? is super bowl: extra-large really that far away for the ordinary joe? what’s next, nfl europe training camp in HD?
everything you need to know about the australian open:

this girl will be playing this girl.
doesn’t matter who beats who, because we all win.
this is the kind of music I was expecting from love monkey. different-sounding but not too foreign; emotional and instantly catchy. a song that clearchannel would hate to have to play, because they wouldn’t be able to pin it down to their cookie-cutter genres.
the artist is KT Tunstall, a scottish songwriter with a yet-to-be-released (in the US, anyway) debut album. she played live on the today show this morning, if you happened to catch it.
the 30-second clip on itunes doesn’t do the song justice, especially since the song sounds infinitely better live. check out a live performance [windows media required] where KT plays all the instruments in “black horse & the cherry tree”, thanks to some tricky use of pedals.
