had I known that wichita state’s actual mascot was, in fact, “the shockers” before I filled out my bracket, I would’ve picked them to go to the final four… just so it would give me more chances to say things like “here’s the shockers taking it to the hole”, and “the shockers went all the way”.

I think george would be proud.

the shockers are playing seton hall live on march madness on demand, so if you followed my advice and signed up, you could be watching online right now.

it was 38 degrees and snowing yesterday. it’ll be sunny and 68 on saturday. so just what the hell is going on? global warming? a shift in the magnetic poles? el niño?

and if by some strange chance a weather catastrophe does occur, will dennis quaid come rescue us all, since his son is somewhere in wyoming, spooning cowboys?

I don’t usually watch the oscars, because it doesn’t make a damn bit of difference in the end who wins and who doesn’t. the only things it truly changes is being able to put “academy award winner” before an actor’s name in the trailer, and how many millions more they sign for, per picture. but those tricksy hobbitses academy-types got me interested when they picked jon stewart to host. and when they showed those smear commercials for best actress, it seemed like it was all going to be worth it.

but now this academy president guy is on, ragging on about how DVDs are the devil! and you must go see a movie in the theater, and we want your money, blah blah blah.

now I remember why I don’t watch this bullshit.
