man, is this thing ever a circus. hours of the court’s time and money wasted with each passing day.

on the plus side, it seems like the perfect environment for a drinking game.

for example, take a shot for:

… every time someone shouts/has an outburst

… every time saddam gets kicked out of his own trial

… each nonsensical “statement” saddam makes in court.

… whenever saddam ridicules the proceedings

… someone mentions “spider-hole”

… upon appointment of a new judge (social!)

seems much easier than the spelling bee drinking game that got us nowhere.

the game’s just started, and already things aren’t looking pretty. penn state’s got less depth and talent compared to last season, so I’m not expecting much of a game unless we can somehow capitalize on turnovers. I guess people expected great things, but when your entire offensive and defensive lines are gone, and you’re starting a new, inexperienced quarterback, it won’t be easy. morelli’s going to have to grow up quickly.

my guess? close early, blowout late (once ohio state wears down the defense).

my latest obsession is a band from portland, maine, going by the name “as fast as“.

it’s hard to pin down exactly what the band sounds like. for some reason, people have been comparing them to weezer, when they’re really all over the map. I guess it’s human nature to find something familiar in the unfamiliar, though, so I’ve included a couple of tracks for you to listen for yourself and see what you think.
