almost as bad as small wonder

I had the damn mr. belvedere theme song stuck in my head all day today, so now the rest of you are going to have to suffer through it with me.

you know belvedere totally had the hots for wesley. that creepy old guy probably wrote it in his diary.

embeddin’ like a felon

ah yes, dr. scholl’s references. so great.

I’ve been experimenting with finetune, yet another of the music streaming sites like last.fm and pandora. the difference is that the interface seems much easier to use, provided you have flash installed. and since about 94% of browsers do these days, I’m pretty sure that won’t be a problem. the one drawback I’ve noticed is that it stops letting you skip tracks after a certain number. which I guess makes sense, since the whole point is to listen to the music.

they also get bonus points for having a wii version.

as an example, I’ve put together a playlist called chill – made up of mostly laid-back stuff – and added it to this post. there should be enough in there that you won’t hear the same track twice, but all the same, finetune seems to randomize the playlist each time. and no, I’m not about to add the player permanently, because I’d rather leave pages with annoying, useless embedded content to the myspace community.

narrowing the field

ursula

after 8 long years, it’s nearly time to replace my ‘97 jetta. the car’s survived many things, including steve’s birthday and being broadsided by some old hag in a volvo. of course, ever since that slow-speed collision, things have been slowly falling apart, mostly on the electrical end of things: the cruise control stopped working 3 years ago, the left rear door won’t unlock, the right front window doesn’t work, and I think the clutch is starting to slip. the car itself is only at 67,000 miles, which makes me wonder how much longer it’ll last.

another volkswagen, of course, is not an option. the reliability just hasn’t improved enough for a repeat purchase, and the brand no longer has the appeal it once did. back when I first got the car in ‘99, vee-dubs were on the verge of their massive comeback. typical compact cars were boring people out of their minds, so consumers were eager for something different. but now that everyone and their grandma has a jetta, there’s just no point in having the anti-corolla.

that’s dr. katey munger to you

katey gradumacated from law school this past weekend, and the chosen few headed up to toledo to celebrate the polish way – beer and kielbasa. rumor has it that she received enough ann taylor gift certificates to open up her own franchise, but I think that’s money better spent on the king of all vehicles.
