gee-whiz
apparently e. gordon gee has decided to return to ohio state after all. this following his denial of any interest in the job. so my question is: who actually cares? why is columbus so gay for gee? is it the bow tie?
no love for brit kirwan, I guess.
the only thing memorable that karen holbrook did was enforce a crackdown on fun. does it really matter who they hire? or is it just my gut feeling?

The board of directors loves Gee because he is really good at fundraising. Is he good for acedemics at OSU? The board of directors doesn’t care about that.
Kirwan was a place holder.
Holbrook helped get OSU back into the big leagues by fostering research. I know most people are pissed at her about the alcohol policy, but I think any university president would have had to make that call at that time. Plus, she was really only dealing with the fallout generated by the fallout from Gee’s University Partners program. She really has taken a bunch of flack for really bringing OSU policy into alignment with city codes.

yeah, it’s all about the cash moneys. which is why they’re better off hiring kirk herbstreit or something.
